Western Sydney University (WSU) has been ranked as number 1 in the world in the Times Higher Education Impact rankings for two consecutive years (2022 and 2023). This keynote address will outline the key strategies WSU implemented which support its sustainability mission and which have created positive impact on the communities of Western Sydney and globally. These strategies will be considered in the context of Australia’s recent major national review of its university sector and the (possibly) changing expectation for universities to meet local, national and global needs
