Nesma Mostafa is an educator and educational researcher who believes deeply in the power of international collaboration to advance equitable and sustainable futures. She currently serves as Head of MENA Higher Education Insights and Student Mobility at the British Council, where she leads regional insight generation and supports the
development of sustainable partnerships that benefit students, institutions, and governments.
In her role, Nesma supports in shaping the British Council’s MENA Higher Education strategy by leveraging data-driven analysis, sector research, and policy intelligence to inform decision-making and cultivate impactful, future-focused collaborations. She is committed to enhancing educational ecosystems across the region, and actively contributes to knowledge-exchange initiatives that bring together diverse perspectives.
Her work promotes cross-cultural understanding and supports the creation of inclusive, resilient learning environments. With more than 15 years of experience in higher education, Nesma brings a strong grounding in educational policy, planning, and research, supported by a master’s degree in International and Comparative Education. She has a proven record in implementing quality assurance frameworks, conducting rigorous evaluations, and strengthening Monitoring and Evaluation capacity across institutions. Her expertise also spans student support and success, including programme design, coaching, and academic advising.
Beyond her work in education, Nesma loves interactive theatre, hands-on crafting, and embracing the freedom of being an amateur, leaning into creativity, experimentation, and play.
