Professor Momna Hejmadi is currently Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Education) at the University of Bath, UK, providing executive leadership for education strategy, academic quality, regulatory oversight, digital transformation, and global engagement. An award-winning educational leader and National Teaching Fellow, she has a strong track record of delivering institution-wide change in curriculum innovation, student success, educational technology, and transnational education.
Originally trained as a cancer scientist in India, the USA, and the UK, Professor Hejmadi’s early biomedical research contributed to the development and commercialisation of a novel anti-cancer therapy. She is now recognised internationally for her leadership in higher education, particularly in curriculum innovation, digital education, inclusive learning, and global engagement.
At Bath, she has led major strategic initiatives including university-wide curriculum transformation, digital assessment reform, curriculum management systems modernisation, and post-pandemic educational renewal. She also led development of the University’s Education Strategy and Resilient Curriculum programme, helping position Bath for its successful TEF 2023 Triple Gold outcome. She has also overseen major enhancements in student outcomes, academic governance, and evidence- informed approaches to access and participation.
As Associate Dean (International), Professor Hejmadi she headed the Faculty of Science’s internationalisation strategy, developing global partnerships across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. She has established new international recruitment pathways, advanced transnational education frameworks, and supported the growth of research collaborations with leading institutions worldwide.
A pioneer in technology-enhanced learning, she launched the University of Bath’s first global MOOC, Inside Cancer, which attracted more than 45,000 learners worldwide, and has championed innovative approaches to assessment, learning analytics, and student engagement. Her work has influenced national policy and practice through collaborations with Advance HE, the Office for Students, and international quality assurance bodies.
Professor Hejmadi serves on several national and international education panels and review bodies and has received multiple awards for excellence in teaching, leadership, and innovation. Her current interests focus on student success, inclusive and future-ready curricula, educational transformation, and the strategic development of transnational education and global partnerships.
