Prof. Dr. Mohamed Sami Abdel Sadek is the President of Cairo University. He is a professor of Civil Law at the Faculty of Law. He was assigned Assistant Prosecutor at the Public Prosecution by presidential decree No. 1, 1995. However, he chose to peruse the academic career, and work at the university. He has held several managerial positions. He was head of the English Section at the Faculty of Law, CU from 2015 to 2017. He was also the head of the Blended Learning Center, at CU from 2015 to 2017. Prof. Abdel Sadek is currently the head of the Disciplinary Board of the Academic Staff. He is head of the Supreme Committee for the Protection and Maintenance of the University Property, and vice chairman for the Medical Care Fund for faculty staff and workers and their families at CU. By the Minister of Higher Education’s decrees Nos. 2673, 2764, and 5677 for the year 2020 and Nos. 149 and 152 for the year 2021, Prof. Abdel Sadek headed committees assigned to select deans for the faculties of Archeology, Higher Studies of Education, and Higher Studies of Statistical Research, in addition to the National Institution for Laser Sciences, the Faculty of Dentistry, and the Faculty of Education for Early Childhood. Prof. Abdel Sadek was assigned consultant of the Minister of Parliamentary and Legislative Affairs from 2003 to 2008. During that period, he prepared the government’s responses to the reports issued by the National Council for Human Rights. He was also selected member of the Committee for Drafting Anti-Terrorism Bill by Prime Minister’s decree No. 477, 2006, and member of the Supreme Advisory Committee for Intellectual Property Rights at ITIDA, Egypt by decision of the Minister of Communication and Information Technology No. 54, 2024 and the Minister of Justice decision No. 901, 2024. Dr. Abdel Sadek has taught undergraduate and graduate students at Cairo University and other educational institutions like the University of Kuwait (2009 – 2014), Helwan University, and Misr International University (MIU), in addition to the Police Academy. He also trained judges and members of the Public Prosecution at the Center for Judicial Studies of the Egyptian Ministry of Justice. He is also a lawyer at the Court of Cassation, the Administrative Court, and the Supreme Constitutional Court. He is an authorized arbitrator at different institutional arbitration centers.
