Prof. Dr. Agron Bajraktari is the Rector of the University of Applied Sciences in Ferizaj, who has been entrusted with this mandate for the second time since 10.06.2020, all this comes after the great successes and achievements that he has achieved in the first mandate. Rector Bajraktari was at the same time as the founding Rector of the University, elected on March 7, 2016 by the Governing Council of that period, while he assumed the office of Rector on March 15, 2016. He is a member of the Conference of Rectors of Public Universities of Kosovo and Chairman of the Governing Council of the National Qualifications Authority.
Prior to his election as Rector, Bajraktari was Vice-Rector at the University of Prishtina (2012-2014), member of the Board of Directors of the University of Mitrovica (2013-2016), as well as Political Advisor in the field of forestry in the Government of Kosovo (2008-2012).
In 2004 he was elected Coordinator of ECTS and Academic Development. Whereas, in 2006 he was elected Head of the Wood Processing Department. Then, Bajraktari was elected Dean of the Faculty of Applied Technical Sciences in Ferizaj at the University of Prishtina in 2006, and was re-elected for his second term in 2009.
Bajraktari was elected Lecturer at the University of Prishtina in 2003, while in the following years, the University of Prishtina elected Mr. Bajraktari as Assistant Professor, in 2011 as an Associate Professor and finally, in July 2016 he was elected Full Professor (the highest university call that can be obtained in Kosovo).
He has over 140 presentations at various international conferences (in America, Argentina, Brazil, China, Japan, South Korea, Russia and almost all European countries). He has also published his works in well-known international journals with international review and impact factor, as well as a reviewer in 6 international journals and a member of the most important organizations in the world in the field of forestry and wood industry. Also, participant in many scientific committees and various events in the field of wood drying.
Prof. Dr. Agron Bajraktari has published three books from his field of study (2 monographs and 1 university book).
He completed his bachelor’s and master’s studies at the Department of Wood Industry – Faculty of Forest Sciences at the Agricultural University of Tirana. In 2004 he received the title of Doctor of Science, while he continued for the second time with his master’s studies in the field of economics (MBA) at Staffordshire University in England. In 2018 he completed his second doctoral studies at the University of Lisbon in Portugal and completed his third doctorate at the University of Nigde Omer Halisdemir in Turkey, in the field of Business Administration. Also in December 2022, she completed her postdoctoral studies in the field of green architecture and interior design at the University of Applied Sciences in Salzburg, Austria.
