Jacques Beauvais holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in physics (University of Ottawa, Canada) and a doctorate in physics (Université Laval, Canada), and is a professor, engineer, researcher and academic leader. He founded the first nanolithography laboratory in Canada. He holds 7 patents, including the most recent on tactile skin for robotics. He held the positions of Vice-President, Research and Vice-President, Research, Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the Université de Sherbrooke, Canada. He was instrumental in the creation of the MiQro Innovation Collaboration Center (C2MI) in a partnership between uSherbrooke, IBM and Teledyne Dalsa. Former Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Ottawa, he has now held the position of Provost and Vice-President, Academic Affairs for the past two years.
