Prof. Hatem Masri is currently serving as the Acting President of the Applied Science University in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Alongside his administrative role, he holds the position of professor specializing in business analytics. Hatem Masri earned his PhD in management science from the University of Tunis, Tunisia in 2004, following a Master’s degree in operations research in 1999 from the same institution.
His research interests encompass various areas including business analytics, supply chain management, financial engineering, and Islamic finance. With over 30 published articles and 6 books to his credit, Hatem Masri has made significant contributions to academia. Notably, he authored a textbook on Islamic business administration.
Furthermore, Hatem Masri is the founder and chair of the INFORMS Bahrain International Group. He has also held prestigious positions such as the past president of the African Federation of Operational Research Societies and the general secretary of the Tunisian Decision Aid Society. In addition, he is an active member of INFORMS and IEEE, two prominent professional organizations. Hatem Masri volunteers his time with many quality assurance and accreditation agencies, further exemplifying his commitment to education and professional development.
