Prof. Adly received the Ph.D. degree in Elect. Eng. from the University of Maryland, College Park, USA in 1992. He worked in the USA in the Academia and the Industry. Prof. Adly worked also as a consultant to the UNESCO and as an expert for the EU Commission. In his career track he served as the R&D Division Director of the Egyptian Industrial Modernization Center, Cairo University Faculty of Engineering Vice Dean, Cairo University Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, Executive Director of Egypt’s Science and Technology Development Fund and Deputy Minister of Higher Education for University Affairs. He published more than 135, holds a US Patent and has been awarded a long list of awards and prizes including Egypt’s First-Class Medal of Science and Arts, Egyptian Academy of Scientific Research Merit Prizes, the Shoman Foundation Arab Scientist Prize and the University of Maryland ECE Dept. Distinguished Alumni Award.
