Dr Tess Goodliffe specialises in developing and supporting quality cultures in higher education as a consultant and training facilitator. She previously worked with the Oman Academic Accreditation Authority (OAAA), serving as the Deputy CEO Technical Affairs from 2013 to 2018. She played a key role in the development and implementation of Oman’s national institutional accreditation process for higher education institutions in Oman. Before joining the OAAA, she was the Associate Dean (Professional Development) at Caledonian College of Engineering, Oman, responsible for ensuring the effective delivery of professional and personal development modules as well as staff professional development, foundation programmes and oversight of student support services.
Tess has had extensive experience working on quality review panels for QAA Scotland, BQA in Bahrain, and UQAIB in Dubai and has contributed to local, regional and international conferences on quality assurance and enhancement in higher education. Until 2014, she was Reflections Editor for the online journal ‘Learning and Teaching in Higher Education: Gulf Perspectives’. In 2006 Tess was awarded the UNESCO International Centre for Engineering Education Silver Badge of Honour for her contribution to engineering education.
