Dr. Aldridge is an Executive Higher Education Consultant to university presidents and ministers of education regarding business models and technology-enhanced education. Dr. Aldridge recently retired from Drexel University after serving six years as president of Drexel University Online where she oversaw more than 125 online programs. She also spearheaded a research project around innovative practices in technology-enhanced education, which resulted in the award-winning, open source website, Virtually Inspired.
During her six-year tenure as President of University of Maryland University College (UMUC), she doubled the university’s enrollment to 97,000 – to become the largest public American university. She also served as Vice Chancellor for Troy University’s Global Campus managing online programs and satellite campuses in 12 countries and 17 states.
Dr. Aldridge has been cited twice as one of Washington DC’s Top 100 most powerful women. She has received national awards and recognition from the US Department of Health and Human Services, US Veteran’s Administration, and the US Social Security Administration.
