HE Dr. Diana Abdulkareem Al Jahromi

Dr. Diana Abdulkarim Aljahromi, the Secretary General and the Deputy Chairperson of the Higher Education Council’s Board of Trustees in the Kingdom of Bahrain, is a renowned key figure in higher education, given her 20-year experience in the sector and is an expert in higher education, academic excellence, quality assurance and accreditation, e-learning, instructional technologies, and linguistics amongst many other fields within the spectrum of education in general and higher education in specific. She has also served as an international institutional and programme accreditation reviewer with international external quality assurance bodies. She is also a Microsoft Certified Educator. and a Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy (HEA).

She has received a number of prestigious local and international awards such as the Bahrain e-Content Award for E-Learning and the Most Distinguished Teacher Award. Dr. Aljahrami has represented the country and the sector in a number of international Higher Education organisations and programmes such as the International Visitor program organised by the State Department, USA. She sits in a number of boards that are primarily focused on the enhancements of education and higher education locally, regionally, and internationally.

She is an international speaker and is a robust researcher widely published in highly reputed peer-reviewed Scopus-indexed journals. In addition, Dr. Aljahrami is a member of the advisory board and a reviewer in number of these journals.

Prior to her current post, Dr. Diana was the Director of the Unit for Teaching Excellence and Leadership (UTEL) at the University of Bahrain (UoB). Dr. Diana also served as the Director of the Quality Assurance Office at the University of Bahrain. She was in charge of the measurement and implementation of all internal and external quality assurance processes such as moderation, reviewing programs, benchmarking, and accreditation
