Dr. Bara Asfour is President of the Arab American University (AAUP), Palestine, and an Assistant Professor of Business. He holds a Ph.D. in Business from a joint program between Arab American University and Indiana University of Pennsylvania (USA), an MBA from Wagner College in New York, and a B.Sc. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from New York University (NYU).
Dr. Asfour has extensive leadership experience in higher education, with expertise in strategic institutional development, university governance, digital transformation, and external engagement. As President of AAUP, he leads the University’s strategic development and international engagement, with a focus on strengthening its contribution to innovation, workforce development, and societal impact.
His academic and professional interests include higher education management, organizational development, sustainable development, and collaboration between universities, industry, government, and international partners. He has published research in internationally indexed journals and participates actively in international conferences, academic networks, and partnerships focused on advancing higher education and sustainable development.
