Dr. Adel Ahmed

Dr. Adel is a highly experienced professional with over 30 years of experience in Higher Education Institutions (HEI) and excellent teaching, research, and senior leadership skills. He has worked in the UK and the Middle East, designing innovative curricula and emphasising the importance of employability skills, including resilience, adaptability, and lifelong learning attitudes. Dr. Adel committed to creating a vibrant and inclusive learning environment that prepares students for the ever-evolving business landscape. Dynamic and forward-thinking with a passion for developing the next generation of business leaders. Skilled in curriculum development, industry partnerships, and student mentorship to ensure graduates are equipped with the knowledge, skills and abilities using Competence based learning model to thrive in today’s competitive global marketplace.

As a full-time professor at Amity University Dubai’s Business School, he specialises in Ethical Finance and Impact Investing. He is the has previously held managerial roles at other universities, including Academic President of Birmingham City University – UAE campus, Vice President – Institutional Effectiveness at Amity University Dubai and Dean of the College of Business at Al Ain University and was the Founding Head of the Accounting and Finance division as part of Liverpool Hope Business School, UK (LHBS). He is committed to developing well-rounded individuals and has published in academic journals and book chapters in sustainability areas. Dr. Adel is a Fellow member of The Higher Education Academy (FHEA), UK, Member, British Accounting and Finance Association. (BAFA), UK, Member, European Accounting Association (EAA), Brussels, BELGIUM, Fellow member, Institute of Training and Occupational Learning, (ITOL), UK, Member, The eAssessment Association, UK, Member, ASET, The Work Based and Placement Learning Association, UK and Member, International Association for Accounting Education and Research (IAAER). His research interest revolves around promoting sustainability in Higher Education Institutions and financial inclusion through technology and ethical finance practices with a focus on impact investing, sustainable development goals, including the development of frameworks for measuring impact and promoting responsible investment.
