Prof. Abdelaziz H. Konsowa started his 4 years term as the president of Alexandria University on November 18, 2020. His background is chemical engineering and he is a professor of Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering, Alexandria University.
Prof. Konsowa held the position : Governor of Alexandria, Egypt from August 30, 2018 to November 27, 2019. President Konsowa is among the nation’s leading experts in the area of desalination, water and wastewater engineering . His research area of interest is in Water and wastewater engineering, Desalination, membrane technology , nanotechnology and advanced water engineering processes.
Previously he was the vice president of Alexandria University for Community Service and Environment Development from April 2 to August 29, 2018. He been the dean of faculty of engineering, Alexandria University January 2015 to April 2018. In 2008 he went to Arizona State University, Civil and Environmental Engineering Department , visiting professor until 2009.
He also held the positions of chairman of Environmental and Engineering Consultants Firm (ENCO), board member of Alexandria Business Association, Chairman of Environment and Energy committee, Alexandria Business Association. Prof. Konsowa had written more than 51 articles published in international Journals and attended several international and national conferences. He has received and managed research grants (33 millions US dollars) in the area of water and wastewater engineering.
