Captain Dr Nadeem Anwar is a highly qualified and experienced Master Mariner and Fellow of The Nautical Institute, qualified to Doctoral level, with multiple degrees at Master and bachelor’s level. He is presently Director of Maritime Training at the Sharjah Maritime Academy, UAE. Capt Dr Nadeem was recently employed by a leading UK nautical training provider, where he was engaged in teaching, course development and research. He also has recent marine operational and sea going experience in command, along with training experience of over 26 years with proven track record of providing and managing marine training and services. Recent work includes marine survey, tanker inspections, and consultancy on tanker operations, port mooring configuration, port operations and assisting overseas administrations with training set-up and certification, port state control and accident investigation, as well as developing training courses for Petroleum, Chemical, Liquefied Gas Tankers, and many more. He previously spent over 16 years at sea with command experience on VLCC, Large Gas tankers, and some other ship types. Capt Dr Nadeem has authored a range of books on marine topics that have been published by leading UK publishers. He has also supported the work of The Nautical Institute as member of the Professional Development Committee.
