Amale Obeid is Lead Director of the Global Affairs Service Center at the Lebanese American University (LAU), where she leads the university’s consulting activities and oversees partnerships and international engagement initiatives across the public and private sectors. In this role, she focuses on translating academic expertise into applied consulting, policy, and institutional solutions for universities, governments, international organizations, and industry.
Amale brings extensive experience in health systems strategy and operations, having built her career in the United States across leading healthcare, consulting, and policy institutions. She previously served as Director at Alvarez & Marsal, advising health systems on strategy and operations improvement. Prior to that, she held senior leadership roles within the University of Maryland Medical System, including Vice President of Strategy & Clinical Program Development and Senior Director of Strategy & Service Line Development. Earlier in her career, she served as a Senior Analyst for Policy and Data Analytics at the Maryland Hospital Association.
Amale holds a Juris Doctor from Loyola University New Orleans, a Master of Health Administration from Johns Hopkins University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of New Orleans. She is a New York–barred attorney and brings a cross-disciplinary perspective spanning healthcare, policy, law, and higher education.
