A highly respected leader in the higher education sector, Professor Hall has received numerous awards for his research, teaching and leadership including the King Charles III Coronation Medal. Dr. Hall is a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineers, the Canadian Society for Senior Engineers and is a certified Board Director holding the ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors. Previous leadership roles include President and Vice Chancellor at the University of Victoria, Canada, Senior Deputy Vice Chancellor and the University of Newcastle, Australia and Vice President Research and Innovation at the University of Guelph, Canada.
A civil engineer whose research and industry leadership have already made a global impact, Dr. Hall carries out trans-disciplinary research across several major themes including water quality modeling, environmental monitoring and pathogen detection systems, and water and health in marginalized communities. He was appointed by the Minister of Education to the Australia Research Council Advisory Council and was a founding board member of the Sydney School of Entrepreneurship. Professor Hall has been a board member for over 30 corporations, university organizations, government, and not-for-profit entities.
