Prof. Sherine Farouk is the Assistant Chancellor for Global Partnerships and Impact at Abu Dhabi University, where she leads the institution’s global engagement, strategic collaborations, and transformational projects that enhance the university’s international visibility and societal impact. With more than 25 years of experience across leading institutions in the UAE, UK, and Egypt, she has played a pivotal role in advancing internationalization, global rankings,
international accreditations, and strategic initiatives that drive student and institutional success.
A recognized regional leader in sustainability and climate action, she serves as Chair of the Arab Universities Knowledge Network for Climate Change and Carbon Footprint (AUKNCCF) under the Association of Arab Universities, is an active member of the UAE Universities Climate Network (UCN), and chairs Abu Dhabi University’s flagship International Conference on Advancing Sustainable Futures (ICASF). Within ADU, she also serves on the Sustainability
Committee, helping to shape the university’s climate, carbon footprint, and green campus agenda.
Prof. Sherine’s research and professional contributions are strongly anchored in sustainability, with a particular focus on accounting, climate-related disclosure, and innovation for sustainable development. Her work has received recognition through awards, competitive research grants, and high-impact publications, positioning her as a thought leader in the region on sustainability and responsible management education. She serves on multiple editorial boards and advisory councils and has delivered over 30 international training and consulting programmes.
A sought-after keynote and panel speaker, Prof. Sherine has contributed to prominent global forums and conferences. She holds a PhD from London Metropolitan University, UK.
