Dr. Wafa Almansoori is the Interim President and Provost of the American University of Bahrain (AUBH). Since joining AUBH in 2020, she has held several key leadership roles, including Director of Institutional Research and Assessment and Vice President of Institutional Effectiveness and Accreditation, before being appointed to her current position.
Dr. Almansoori brings extensive experience in higher education leadership and quality assurance. She was part of the founding team that established the Higher Education Quality Review System in the Kingdom of Bahrain and dedicated over twelve years to the Education & Training Quality Authority (BQA), where she served as Director of both the Directorate of Higher Education Reviews and the Directorate of Vocational Reviews. Earlier in her career, she was a faculty member in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at the University of Bahrain.
Beyond her leadership roles in academia, Dr. Almansoori has contributed to the engineering profession and regulatory practice in Bahrain. She served as Vice Chair of the Board of the Council for Regulating the Practice of Engineering Professions from 2016 to 2019, following her tenure as a board member from 2013 to 2016. She also serves as an external reviewer with the Oman Authority for Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance of Education and is an active member of the Bahrain Society of Engineers.
Dr. Almansoori earned her B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Bahrain, an M.Sc. in Microelectronic Systems and Communications from the University of Liverpool, UK, and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Tufts University, USA.
