Keynote Address:

Beyond Degrees: Universities as Drivers of a Resilient Future

Prof. Francisco Marmolejo, Higher Education President, Qatar Foundation, Qatar

Resilience is fast becoming the defining graduate attribute of our time. It is no longer enough for universities to equip students with knowledge and technical skills; they must also nurture adaptability, creativity, and a mindset capable of thriving in uncertainty. The pressing challenge is to graduate individuals who can anticipate disruption, confront complexity, and ultimately shape a better collective future.

This dialogue highlights the transformative role of higher education as a driver of resilience—within individuals, institutions, and societies. It will explore how universities can reimagine their mission beyond degrees to cultivate graduates who embody resilience in action: bridging knowledge with empathy, critical inquiry with ethical responsibility, and learning with impact.
