Since September 2020, Hervé Sabourin is the Director for Strategic Projects of « Réseau Figure® » a network of 31 universities, founded in 2012 and funded by the french governement, whose main objective is to develop new and innovative engineering training programs, in line with european quality assurance standards. Herve Sabourin is in charge of the european strategy for the network and its international development.
From September 2014 to September 2020, he was the Regional Director for the Middle-East of the “Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie” (AUF), the first worldwide university network, he has runned during 6 years the global development of the AUF activities in Middle-East, according to 4 main priorities, Quality Assurance and institutional governance, Capacity Building For Research, Students employability and Entrepreneurship, Global Development of Societies, Intercultural Dialog and mediations.
From 2010 to 2012, he was Vice-President of the University of Poitiers (France) in charge of International Relations, developing various international programs, as development of Students and Staff incoming and outcoming mobilities, Management of Joint degrees and specific involvement into European Education and Research programs: Erasmus-Mundus, Tempus, Interreg., Erasmus+.
He is an European Expert for EACEA (Education Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency), specialist in the design, management and evaluation of international projects. He is Professor of Mathematics, owns a PH D in Mathematics (1995) and a “Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches” (2005) from the University of Poitiers.
